Diver Health, Experience & Skill level
As the Komodo region is remote, to mitigate diver risk, divers are required to have:
- Advanced Open Water Diver qualification (or equivalent)
- 50 logged dives
- Personal equipment recently serviced
- Recent diving experience prior to trip 6-10 dives in prior 12 months
- Experience in moderate to strong current diving
- Experience in launching DSMB’s from depth and with control.
We Recommend: (this is not only for you, but your buddy’s safety)
- Divers dive with 2 computers – a failure of 1 computer will then cancel your diving for 24hours. Not something you want on a bucket list dive such as this!
- Divers should consider a dive medical (AS4005.1) within 2 years of dive travel
- To assist with diver comfort, DiveTribeBrisbane will be hosting some drift dives in the final months leading up to departure. (Brisbane/Gold Coast Locale)
