Experience Galapagos Master

Are you ready,.. for:

The GALAPAGOS

The “Enchanted Islands” of the Galápagos are found in the Pacific Ocean, 926 kilometres west of Ecuador. The Galápagos archipelago is composed of 13 main islands, 7 smaller islands, and islets. The islands and their surrounding waters form an Ecuadorian province.

Incredible Island Formations of the Galapagos

There are many wonders to discover in the Galápagos both above and below the water. Its geographical location at the convergence of three ocean currents makes the Galápagos one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. Ongoing seismic and volcanic activity reflects the processes that formed the islands. These processes, together with the extreme isolation of the islands, has led to the development of unusual, rare plants and animal life.

Undoubtedly some of the most spectacular pelagic diving on the planet, the Galapagos Islands are one of those rare places where you can dive through hundreds of hammerhead sharks to find a whale shark cruising along. Add silky sharks, sea turtles, giant morays and schooling fish in their thousands into the mix… and that’s just the first dive at Darwin!

At Wolf Island you can expect to see huge Galapagos sharks and eagle rays up close, whilst dives at Cabo Marshall will put you face to face with giant manta rays or in the midst of a school of millions of black-striped salemas.

Macro life is plentiful with Black Coral bushes sheltering seahorses, blennies, nudibranchs, hawk fish and frogfish. Marine iguanas are a unique sight, along with speedy Galapagos penguins and playful sea lions.

The Galapagos Experience

The Galapagos Master is the perfect platform for a dive adventure. Known locally as Deep BlueGalapagos Master is a 32 metre scuba diving liveaboard vessel which underwent a complete interior refit to the highest standards in 2015. Constructed from steel, the vessel is steadier than most due to being designed to be lower to aid stability and speed. Mostly recently refurbished in early 2023, Galapagos Master’s itinerary covers some of the top dive sites in the Galapagos.

Diver Health, Experience & Skill level

As the Galapagos are REMOTE, to mitigate diver risk, divers are required to have:

  • Advanced Open Water Diver qualification (or equivalent)
  • 75 logged dives
  • Personal equipment recently serviced
  • Recent diving experience prior to trip 6-10 dives in prior 6 months
  • Experience in moderate to strong current diving
  • Experience in launching DSMB’s from depth and control.

We Recommend:  (this is not only for you, but your buddy’s safety)

  • Divers dive with 2 computers – a failure of 1 computer will then not cancel your diving for 24hours. Not something you want on a bucket list dive such as this!
  • Divers should consider a dive medical (AS4005.1) within 2 years of dive travel
  • To assist with diver skills & comfort level, SubmersibleHuman will be running a Drift Diver Course 6 months prior to departure for divers. (Brisbane/Gold Coast Locale)
  • To assist with diver comfort, DiveTribeBrisbane will be hosting some drift dives in the final months leading up to departure. (Brisbane/Gold Coast Locale)
