Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is a captivating Southeast Asian nation bordered by Thailand, Laos, China, India, and Bangladesh.
Encompassing over 800 islands across 12,000 km2 of crystalline waters, Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago and Burma Banks offer some truly breathtaking diving away from the masses.
Gorgeous underwater landscapes consisting of isolated pinnacles, caves and tunnels, soft and hard corals, vibrant marine life and exclusive, rarely visited dive sites are just part of theappeal of time spent cruising this region of the Andaman Sea.
A week aboard the beautiful ‘Thailand Master’ – a traditional Indonesian Phinisi.

Myanmar’s diving is concentrated in the Mergui Archipelago, a vast stretch of over 800 islands in the remote southern reaches of the Andaman Sea. Until recently off-limits to most travellers, this secluded region remains largely unexplored and unspoiled—making it a dream destination for adventurous divers seeking pristine marine environments.

What makes diving in Myanmar exceptional is its combination of dramatic underwater topography, thriving coral reefs, and incredible biodiversity. Divers can explore granite pinnacles draped in colourful soft corals, tunnels and caverns such as those at Shark Cave, and walls teeming with both macro critters and large pelagics. You may encounter manta rays, whale sharks, barracudas, and reef sharks, as well as a vibrant cast of nudibranchs, frogfish, and seahorses. Visibility is generally excellent, ranging from 15 to 30 metres, particularly in the dry season.
